Why is there a special election on February 15th?
Our State Assemblymember, Ed Chau, was recently appointed to a judgeship. There will be a special election held on Tuesday, February 15 to succeed him.
How does voting by mail work?
All registered voters will receive a ballot by mail. Vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed on or near January 17th. Ballots postmarked by Tuesday, February 15th and received by the Registrar will be counted. You can track the status of your ballot, including when it was mailed to you, when it was received, and when it is counted by the Registrar by clicking here. If you have concern about your ballot or need to request a replacement ballot, click here to access the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters website.
Where can I mail my ballot?
You can mail your ballot from any mailbox, and it will be counted as long as it is postmarked by February 15. There will also be several official ballot drop boxes in the district, and those locations will be available here.
Can I vote in-person?
Yes, there will be in-person voting locations at official Vote Centers. The hours and locations of Vote Centers will be available here.

Por qué hay una elección especial el 15 de febrero?
Nuestro Asambleísta Estatal, Ed Chau, fue nombrado recientemente juez. Habrá una elección especial el martes 15 de febrero para sucederlo.
¿Cómo funciona la votación por correo?
Todos los votantes registrados recibirán una boleta por correo. Las boletas de votación por correo se enviarán por correo el 17 de enero o cerca de esa fecha.
